2014 Illinois School Report Card

In the fall of 2014, the Illinois State Board of Education released new school report cards for districts across the state. The data included represents tests taken in spring 2013. The new report cards emphasize student growth in addition to student achievement levels and district data traditionally shared. We are excited at the opportunity to place primary emphasis on the academic growth of our students. Meets or Exceeds is still important, but measuring, honoring and celebrating growth is why we are here.

Data indicates the environment of our district positions us to EXCEL. However, the data also indicates we are not yet performing at that level. As an institution, and community, we must embrace current opportunities to improve and ensure more of our students position themselves for success in college and career.

The first two graphs below contain growth visualizations of students currently in grades 4-9. The displays represent the movement of students from their performance levels in 2012 to their performance levels in 2013. Green=Growth. The green lines represent students who show positive growth by moving up one or more performance levels while the red lines represent students who show negative growth by moving down one or more performance levels. The gray lines represent students whose performance did not change performance levels. The thickness of the line represents the number of students who made the same transition from one performance level to another: the thicker the line, the more students moved between two particular performance levels.

The bar graphs that follow the growth visualizations represent achievement levels in comparison to our surrounding school districts. We've included an interactive motion graph at the bottom of the page for you to create additional visualizations of the data. The data outlines causes for celebration and areas for growth. We remain committed to our current improvement efforts and will not rest until the data displays the EXCELLENCE of which we are capable.
